Knights still undefeated, defeats Alpha in SF series

Knights draw first blood in their showdown against Alpha after winning Game 1 of their best-of-three series, 92-81, at the start of the APCRAA Basketball Tournament (ABT) Season 5 Men’s Division semifinals on Saturday, September 14 at the Asia Pacific College Gymnasium.

The Knights are still undefeated this season after winning their sixth consecutive victory last Saturday.

Knights’ team captain Jhonel De Luna carried the team by scoring 21 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. He also became the seventh member of the ABT 500 points club after scoring his 500th point at the 1:41 mark of the 4th quarter. Newly crowned MVP Mark Rivera had a double-double game of 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Jess Carrillo led Team Alpha in scoring with 26 points. Jap Puente is at second with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Alex Tagle finished the game with 7 points, 11 rebounds and 8 rebounds and was just 3 points shy of scoring his 500th career points.
